Six Things You Never Knew About Robert Buckley
Robert Buckley made your heart pound when he played Kirby Atwood on Lipstick Jungle, and now, he’s busy making you swoon every Monday night, playing sports agent Clay on One Tree Hill.
But this sexy TV star is not only hot — he’s totally and completely hilarious! (Oh yeah, and single.) But if you think you know everything there is to know abut Rob, we got him to spill even more on his personal life … self-deprecation and all!
1. All my life I’ve eaten cereal with orange juice, not milk.
2. I’ve been telling friends and casting directors that I’m 28 for the past 9 years.
3. I’m a big fan of self-deprecation and white lies (see #2 above).
4. There are four things I never leave the house without: Blackberry, wallet, to-do list and crippling Catholic guilt.
5. I was a talented magician in my teen years and one of my finest tricks was making my love life disappear (it finally re-appeared in my mid-twenties).
6. I have the same two thoughts every time I’m dancing in a club, “Why am I in this club dancing” and “How did I get up on this table?”

'One Tree Hill' Star Robert Buckley Teases Clay's Downward Spiral: 'His World Is Falling Apart'
Robert Buckley literally finds himself in some marginally hot water on tonight's "One Tree Hill." In a teaser that aired last week, Dan Scott (Paul Johansson) is seen drowning Nate's hottie sports agent, Clay (Robert). And, it seems that our most recent Hump Day Hottie is taking this violent turn all in stride.
"Is he drowning? Or is he perhaps giving Clay a swimming lesson?" Robert jokedto us about the events that look to be unfolding tonight after Clay fails to follow through on getting Nate (James Lafferty) a basketball contract. "It could be tough love. No. I'm just kidding. That would be a terrible swimming lesson."
For longtime fans of the series, Dan's violent tendencies won't come as a surprise, but for newer fans this may seem like an interesting road for daddy dearest (who's now a supposed self-help guru) to take. Plus, it raises the question: Is Dan really reformed?
"I thought that was an interesting teaser to show because, especially for new viewers, up to this point Dan has actually been a really great guy. I was like, 'I actually like Dan!' I know I haven’t seen all of the earlier stuff, but he seems so darn likeable and he's trying so hard," he explained. "Not to mention that he has the Jamie character rooting for him. It was really shocking that all of a sudden we see him snap. It definitely comes as a jarring surprise and has serious consequences related to it."
But, don't worry, Robert, who is now a series regular on the show, comes out fine. Er, sort of.
"Clay makes it out OK, but I mean OK is relative; the next episode coming up is a very tough episode for Clay. When you talk about hitting rock bottom and struggling — after next week you're going to see a lot of Clay's character in that his world is falling apart," he continued. "He let down a friend and betrayed a friend and client and, as we saw, is definitely going to feel the repercussions from Nate's dad as well… when his best friend's absentee violent ex-prison father weighs, [it's] never a good thing."

Hollywood Crush
'One Tree Hill' Actor Robert Buckley Laughs Off Our Hump Day Hottie Nomination
Robert Buckley's face and personality have not only made him a popular staple on several TV shows lately ("One Tree Hill" and the canceled viewer faves "Privileged" and "Lipstick Jungle," to name a few), but also one of the choice babes working in Hollywood today. Plus, it doesn't hurt that he's not scared to disrobe on some of the most intriguing shows with some of the prettiest girls on TV (yes, that was him wooing Heather Locklear in Lifetime's "Flirting with Forty"). So, we decided to nominate Robert as this week's Hump Day Hottie to get to know the man behind the washboard abs.
Vital Stats: The 28-year-old SoCal native was surprisingly kind of a bookworm in school. He admittedly loved math growing up and studied economics in college. "I grew up a bit of a math nerd," he told us. "I don’t remember much about my college training, except at parties I can do quick arithmetic like Rain Man."
And in case you're wondering, Robert is looking for love and even gave us the parameters of what it takes to be his lucky lady. "I have to say obviously sublime physical perfection doesn’t hurt," he joked. "But truthfully a sense of humor, a demented sense of humor is very high on the list. Someone who's easy going and someone who loves food."
Where you might have already seen him: He's been in a few smaller flicks, but also has had marquee roles on several big TV shows like "Lipstick Jungle," "Fashion House" and "American Heiress." And he was banking that his role on "Lipstick Jungle" would help him find a few more dates, but he was wrong, so he's pleased for the recognition this week.
I'm flattered! This is good news for me," he said. "I hope you know that now the whole Buckley email family chain is gong to be hearing about this one. This guy is moving up the Christmas card list."
Why you should take notice of him now: He's now a series regular on "One Tree Hill," so expect his sports agent Clay to continue trying to maneuver his way through life in the quaint town of Tree Hill, North Carolina. But, just because Clay's now living in a small town, it doesn't mean that drama takes a backseat. Let's just say, he may have messed with the wrong local family.
Until next Wednesday, when we nominate yet another Hump Day Hottie, you can gawk at Robert and the rest of our past HDH's by clicking on the photo below!
